Description
The synthetic AKT1 E17K DNA is a linear plasmid that contains an 801 bp DNA fragment of the human AKT1 E17K (AAG) gene. The DNA insert covers the AKT1-E17K (AAG) mutant codon and 5′- and 3′-flanking regions. The AKT1-E17K (AAG) plasmid is verified by Sanger sequencing and linearized.
The AKT1 gene (v-akt murine thymoma viral oncogene homolog 1) encodes for the protein RAC-alpha serine/threonine-protein kinase. It plays a key role in cell growth, proliferation, survival, and angiogenesis. AKT1 mutations are observed in many cancer types. AKT1 is altered in 1.78% of all cancers with breast invasive ductal carcinoma, colon adenocarcinoma, endometrial endometrioid adenocarcinoma, lung adenocarcinoma, and invasive breast carcinoma having the greatest prevalence of alterations.
With AKT1 E17K DNA you are able to
Analyze the sensitivity of AKT1 PCR assay
Gain certainty of the limit of AKT1 detection
Optimize and validate new cancer panels
Routinely monitor the performance of your AKT1 assay
